Featured CM Borelli Requests For NYC Parks Dept. To Acquire Vacant Land To Expand Blue Heron Park & Crescent Beach Park

Council Member Joe Borelli has sent a letter to Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, requesting the NYC Parks Department to consider acquiring three vacant parcels, currently owned by Project Rebuild. The properties are currently managed under the cities Hurricane Sandy buyout program.

“It’s a rare opportunity to be able to expand a local park and when we’re presented with the possibility we need to do whatever it takes to make it a reality,” Borelli said.

This acquisition would add roughly 4,000 square feet to Blue Heron Park and 1/3-acre to Crescent Beach Park.

Together, we will continue to fight for New York City.
