Council Member Joseph C. Borelli (R-South Shore) is announcing discretionary funding allotments to the Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) of all public schools in his district. Borelli provides each parent teacher association with several thousand dollars every year to fund their everyday operations and to ensure a consistent, reliable infusion of resources which parents can count on each year.

For fiscal year 2019, each of these associations will receive $3,000. With this, the parents of each school are able to get right to the business of improving their children’s experience at each of their schools instead of immediately having to fret about fundraising.

“I know how important every last dollar is to our PTAs on Staten Island and how hard they work to stretch every resource they receive to create a welcoming, supportive, and fun school experience for the students. I’d like to thank each and every member of the more than two dozen parent teacher associations we have on the south shore for the work they do and the free time that they sacrifice in order to improve the lives of not just their own children, but all students,” said Council Member Joseph Borelli. “It’s truly an honor to be a partner to these groups.”

“Joe Borelli has always supported the Parent Teacher Associations in his district and we are very thankful for his support over the years. When that letter comes, it’s like gold! We can’t thank him enough, we truly appreciate everything he does,” said Melanie Barr of the I.S. 75 PTA.
